El alumnado bilingüe de 4º interesado en realizar las
pruebas oficiales de B1
deberá inscribirse en la plataforma educativa EducamosCLM
(educamosclm.castillalamancha.es).
El plazo para hacerlo será desde el 16 hasta el 29 de octubre de 2025, ambos inclusive.
Si alguno tiene problemas técnicos, puede acudir a la secretaría del centro para que le ayuden.

Calendario inicialmente previsto para los exámenes de inglés de B1 para el alumnado bilingüe de 4º A:
1. Las pruebas escritas serán el lunes lunes 9 de marzo de 2026 a las 09:00 horas, en el instituto Modesto Navarro.
2. Las pruebas orales se realizarán en una única convocatoria que tendrá lugar entre el 2 de febrero de 2026 y el 30 de abril de 2026, en la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Tomelloso.
3. Las pruebas orales tendrán lugar en la fecha y hora que cada escuela oficial de idiomas determine, conforme a sus posibilidades organizativas, en el plazo mencionado anteriormente. Por ello, las fechas de las pruebas orales podrán ser anteriores a las de las pruebas escritas.
Calendario del procedimiento relacionado con la calificación.
-30 de abril de 2026: Publicación de calificaciones en la plataforma EducamosCLM.
- 4, 5 y 6 de mayo de 2026: Periodo de solicitud de revisión de calificaciones.

EvAU 2024-25 results
- 98% of our students passed the PAU exam (61 out of 62).
- 77% of our students passed the English exam (48 out of 62).
- 95% of our bilingual students passed the English exam (21 out of 22).
It is not easy to make comparisons with previous years as the exam model changed during the COVID pandemic and it is still a bit different from what it was before; this year it was more difficult than in the previous three because students had to choose 6 out of 9, rather than out of 12, grammar questions in the rephrasing exercise.
What is clear is that the number of students who have passed the PAU test has hit a record, only behind the 100% of passes for 2015 and 2016. The number of students who passed the English test, both bilingual and non-bilingual, are similar to those of previous years, even if the total number of students who took the tests has increased very noticeably, which says a lot about the hard work of all our students. Congratulations to all of them!

Plazo de matrícula: 10 días.
Para matricularos tenéis que abrir Educamos y seleccionar la "Secretaría Virtual", luego seleccionáis "Tramitación por Internet" y "Enviar Solicitud", y en el listado que aparece a la derecha elegís "Pruebas de Certificación Nivel Intermedio B1 para alumnado de 4º ESO y 2º CFGM".

Problemas para acceder a Educamos
Muchos alumnos estáis teniendo problemas para acceder a Educamos porque vuestras contraseñas están bloqueadas.
Es debido a un error de Educamos: cuando entra un alumno en un dispositivo que ha dado ese error a un alumno o familiar anterior,
le sigue diciendo que tiene la cuenta bloqueada.
Como sabeis, los navegadores de Internet utilizan atajos para ir más rápidos, quedando grabados los itinerarios de Internet que
se han utilizado anteriormente.
Si introduces tu contraseña y estás seguro que es la correcta, antes de ir a desbloquearla o pedir en secretaría que te generen una nueva,
hay que asegurarse que no es por este error. Para ello hay que borrar los datos de navegación del dispositivo (borrar las cookies y el historial)
y entrar al EDUCAMOS desde cero, incluso sin utilizar el acceso directo, sino buscando la aplicación en un buscador (Google, etc.)
y eligiendo Educamos.

EvAU 2023-24 results
(preliminary results)
- 65% of our students passed the English exam (39 out of 60).
The university still won't give us our students' results, only a simple list of their marks,
so we have no way to contrast how bilingual and non-bilingual students did in the exams. We also don't know yet how
many passed their EvAU exams, as we have only got a list of the exam results for our own subject.
Even this scant information may be of some use: the trend is for more students to study A-levels and take these exams,
with a similar number of students passing them, and a growing number of students failing them.
This could be interpreted as the result of a greater interest in accessing higher education by our students,
which doesn't appear to be matched by a greater interest in working hard enough to achieve their aims.

EvAU 2022-23 results
Unfortunately, this year the Castilla-La Mancha university has decided
not to inform us about our students' results in the official access to university exams.
If, at a later date, they reconsider the damage that this decision means for our
self-evaluation process, we will inform you here.

EvAU 2021-22 results
- 97% of our students passed the EvAU exam.
- 90% of our students passed the English exam.
- 96% of our European Section students passed the English exam
(only one student failed, but this student got his highest marks in the English exam).
This year's results in the percentage of students who passed the exam
and the percentage of bilingual students who passed the English test are similar to the average of the last nine years.
However, the total percentage of students who passed the English exam has been much higher: 94%,
in contrast with an average of 72%. Congratulations to all our students for their hard work!

EvAU 2020-21 results
- 94% of our students (a record 52 this year) passed the EvAU exam.
- 91% of our European Section students (a record 41 this year) passed the English exam.
- 79% of our students (41 out of 52) passed the English exam.
This year's results are similar to the average of
the last eight years, with a slight increase in the number of students who passed the English exam:
96%, 94% and 70%, respectively.
Congratulations to everyone involved:
teachers, families and especially our students.
Once more, I can't include our educational authorities because they have decided to reduce
the school year by two weeks in order to move the September exams to June,
so that students who have passed all their subjects have two weeks less to work and revise for these exams,
while students who haven't passed everything have only two weeks to revise instead of two months.

¡Felicidades, Joyce!
Seguimos sin tiempo para actualizar esta sección, pero
merece la pena hacer una excepción para felicitar a
nuestra compañera Joyce Lauwers, que ha recibido
un
certificado europeo de calidad por el proyecto
"View from a room" que realizó el año pasado con
sus alumnos, a quienes hacemos extensiva nuestra
felicitación por un trabajo tan bien hecho que ha
llamado la atención de las autoridades educativas
europeas "al más alto nivel", según nos ha comunicado
el equipo de e-Twinning.

Mensaje de ACNUR
Estos días no tengo tiempo de actualizar esta sección, pero
me parece que merece la pena dedicar 3 minutillos a ver este
videoclip
en el que Filippo Grandi, Alto Comisionado de las
Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados, envía un mensaje de ánimo
y gratitud a toda la sociedad española y muy especialmente a
quienes apoyan el trabajo de ACNUR. Si no tenéis tiempo ahora,
quedaos con esta frase: "Nos resulta muy doloroso ver cómo los
efectos de este virus están siendo especialmente dramáticos
en una de las sociedades más solidarias y generosas del mundo
con las personas refugiadas y desplazadas bajo el amparo de
ACNUR, como es la española".

EvAU 2018-19 results
- 100% of our students (24 this year) passed the EvAU exam.
- 100% of our European Section students (14 this year) passed the
English exam.
- 88% of our students (21 out of 24) passed the English exam.
This year's results are better than the average of
the last six years, which has gone up one point in every group:
97%, 93% and 81%, respectively.
Congratulations to everyone involved:
teachers, families and especially our students (I am leaving out our educational
authorities, who being politicians are at present probably more interested
in deciding who will sit where (see today's news in any national newspaper)
than in reaching a compromise for a lasting education law that will bring some
stability to our work).

Información (en español) sobre las becas del Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional
para realizar cursos intensivos de inglés de una semana de duración en España en verano.
En este enlace encontrarás toda la información oficial.
Extraoficialmente podemos decirte que no sabemos dónde son los cursos, ni cuánto cuestan,
sólo que tendrás que pagar un mínimo de 100 euros, más el transporte hasta el lugar donde se impartan
los cursos, y que la beca cubre un máximo de 900 euros, que debe ser suficiente para cubrir el coste
del alojamiento, la manutención y las clases.

EvAU 2017-18 results

- 94% of our students (35 this year) passed the EvAU exam.
- 90% of our European Section students (20 this year) passed the
English exam.
- 77% of our students (27 out of 35) passed the English exam.
This year's results are very similar to the average of
the last five years: 96%, 92% and 80%, respectively. If we compare it with
the average of the four years before we had a bilingual programme (92%
students passed the PAEG, but only 49% passed English), the conclusion is
that PAEG (or EvAU) results are slightly better (from an average of 92% to
an average of 96%) and the results in the English test are much, much better
(from an average of 49% to an average of 80%).
Congratulations to all the people who have made this possible: our
teachers, who have made the effort to improve their English and continue
making the effort of teaching in English; our students, who dared to join
our bilingual programme and have made the effort of learning in English, and
our students' families, who trusted and encouraged their children and
supported their children's teachers when the marks were not as good as they
used to be.
I wish I could find something to thank our educational authorities for
during these ten years, but the sad truth is that they haven't made much of
an effort to help (rather the opposite), and to this day they still seem not
to trust either our students' ability to learn two things at the same time
or the teachers' ability to teach in English without putting at risk the
chances of our students learning as much as they should (more info
in Spanish).

Estamos enseñando demasiado inglés
Según la Orden 27/2018, de 8 de febrero, y en opinión de las autoridades educativas
de Castilla-La Mancha, dedicar más de un 50% de horas a la semana a aprender inglés
(incluyendo las clases de inglés) es demasiado, y nuestros alumnos corren el riesgo de
acabar hablando inglés mejor que español. Esto, que en Cataluña puede suponer un problema,
a nosotros nos va a obligar a eliminar alguna materia de nuestro programa bilingüe para poder
cumplir lo que dice la ley. En la reunión celebrada hoy en Ciudad Real se dejó un resquicio a la
esperanza, y esperamos que el recorte de horas pueda afectar sólo a 2º curso. Os tendremos
informados... (podéis descargaros la
nueva normativa aquí).
Última hora (20 de abril de 2018): finalmente, el claustro de profesores del IES Modesto Navarro
decidió que el próximo curso no impartiremos matemáticas en inglés en ningún curso. De esta forma
aún tenemos una hora de más en 2º curso (16 horas semanales de inglés, incluyendo las clases de inglés),
pero como en otros cursos tendremos menos, nos han dado el visto bueno a la modificación para
adaptarnos a la nueva normativa. Esperemos que el gobierno regional de Castilla-la Mancha no apruebe
más leyes para seguir mejorando los programas bilingües, porque en mi humilde opinión no necesitamos
más mejoras como ésta.

How well are our students doing?
Have a look at these graphs which show how official exam results
in the university access exam have improved over time.
We have only been able to get hold of the results from the last eight years, but they are enough
to show a noticeable improvement in our students' performance both in the official English exams
and in their overall results since our first bilingual students started taking these exams. You can
also compare the results in other subjects and draw your own conclusions...
Further down you have another graph with similar data, posted last September but updated this week
with the new data we have been able to find.

EvAU 2016-17 results

Below are the results from the last university entry tests (currently known as EvAU,
formerly as PAEG, PAU or Selectividad, as our education authorities strive to improve
our education system by inventing new names for old things instead of investing more money
on it).
- 93% of our students (46 this year) passed the EvAU exam.
- 86% of our European Section students (a record 29 this year) passed the English exam.
72% of our students (43 out of 46) passed the English exam.
On the whole, quite satisfactory results, especially if we compare them with the situation in
previous years, before we had any European Section students taking this exam.
However, they are not as good as last year, so next year we will have to work harder!

Cambridge English - B1 Exams
The exams will be on Saturday 10th, in the "Ampliación" building.
The gate to the Old Building will be open for access from 8:15.
The written part will begin at 9:00, and finish at 11:20, but
you should be at the school no later than 8:30.
Don't forget to bring your ID card, pen, pencil, rubber and pencil sharpener.
The oral exams will begin at 16:00 and finish at 19:00. You will receive an e-mail next week
with the time your exam will begin; you must be at the school half an hour in advance.

PAEG 2015-16 results
Here are the results from the university entry tests (PAEG):
- 100% of our students passed! The same as last year, all our students (39 this year) passed the PAEG exam.
- ALL of our European Section students passed the English exam!
90% of our students (35 out of 39) passed the English exam
(in 2013, before we had any European Section students taking this exam, only 29% passed,

The written Cambridge exams (reading, writing and use of English) will take place, as scheduled, in our school
on Saturday 11th June, but the speaking exam will be next Monday 6th June. If you haven't received an e-mail from Cambridge,
tell your English teacher as soon as possible, please, so that we can confirm that you are in the candidates list.

PAEG 2014-15 results:
Here are the results from the university entry tests (PAEG):
- 100% of our students passed! All 45 students (a record number of them, too!) passed the PAEG exam,
and only two of them needed the Bachillerato marks to get over 5 marks in the final score.
- Over 75% of all students passed the English exam (in 2013, before we had any European Section students
in this exam, only 29% passed, which shows how interest in learning English has increased dramatically in our school!
- Nearly 90% of our European Section students passed the English exam (two students failed this exam).
