INTRODUCTION

Malaysia is a country in Asia. It consist into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. Malaysia has a total landmass of 329,847 square kilometres
The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government.
The country is near to the ecuator and his climate is tropical. The Malays are the majority of the population. There are also significant Chinese and Indian communities.

HISTORY (Prehistory)

Malaysia has its origins in the Malay Kingdoms present in the area which, from the 18th century, became subject to the British Empire. The first British territories were known as the Straits Settlements, whose establishment was followed by the Malay kingdoms becoming British protectorates.
Have been found Archaeological remains in the Malay penisula Sabah and Sarawak.
The Semang, black ethnic group, have a significant percentage of their ancestors in the Malay Peninsula, from its migration from Africa 50,000 years ago. They are considered an indigenous group in the region.

GEOGRAPHY

Malaysia is the 43º most poblated country and the 66º world's largest with a population of about 27 million people and an area of 320,000 km ².
For compare, the population is similar to that of Venezuela and its surface corresponds to the outline of Suriname and Uruguay gathered.


ECONOMY

The Malay Peninsula and Southeast Asia in general have been for centuries a center of intense trading. Products such as porcelain and spices were traded even before Malacca and Singapore Sultanate was prominent places. In the seventeenth century there were several Malay states. During British rule in the region under the name of British Malaya, was planted with commercial ends a lot of trees of rubber and palm oil, which lead the country to be the leading producer of these products, and tin 0.7.
