INTRODUCTIONMalaysia is a country in Asia. It consist into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. Malaysia has a total landmass of 329,847 square kilometres The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government. The country is near to the ecuator and his climate is tropical. The Malays are the majority of the population. There are also significant Chinese and Indian communities. (Click on this link to go to a page that show you the anthem of Malaysia) HISTORY (Prehistory) Malaysia has its origins in the Malay Kingdoms present in the area which, from the 18th century, became subject to the British Empire. The first British territories were known as the Straits Settlements, whose establishment was followed by the Malay kingdoms becoming British protectorates. Have been found Archaeological remains in the Malay penisula Sabah and Sarawak. The Semang, black ethnic group, have a significant percentage of their ancestors in the Malay Peninsula, from its migration from Africa 50,000 years ago. ECONOMY The Malay Peninsula and Southeast Asia in general have been for centuries a center of intense trading.
