Group work - presentation - A historical event

Instructions:

  1. Make 7 groups of 4 students.

  2. Choose one of these topics:

  3. Send your teacher a message with a description of your work plan:

  4. Wait for confirmation that you can work on that topic (if no other team has chosen it first).

  5. Prepare a presentation in .pdf format (you can edit it with PowerPoint or other software, but have ready a copy in .pdf format just in case).

  6. Do not include text if possible, only key words, dates, or other important data, but not full sentences.

  7. Include a lot of graphic information: images, graphs, maps,...

  8. Divide the work among your team mates as you prefer. Each member of the team will present one of four parts.
Here are some ideas to help you (you may not need or be able to answer all these questions):

    1. Introduction

      • What happened?

      • When and where did it happen?

      • Who was involved?

      • How many people were affected?

    2. Antecedents (a description of the situation before the event)

      • What was it like before?

      • What had happened before?

      • Why were things as they were before it happened?

      • How did it start?

    3. Causes

      • Who decided it or was interested in it?

      • Why did they want it to happen?

      • Why did it happen?

      • How did it happen exactly?

    4. Consequences

      • How did it finish?

      • What were the consequences for the people involved?

      • What changed after the event?

      • What long-term consequences did it have?

      • What lasting effects can we see today?
