LIST OF FILES
Below are the files that should be in your hard drive, plus some
more files which may be useful to some of you. If you do not have some
of these files, you can get all the necessary files and help at the
LEXIS website:
http://www.ies-modesto-navarro.es/european_section/5_software/lexis10
- FILELIST.HTM: this file.
- FILELIST.TXT: text version of this file.
- LEXIS10.EXE: the program (executable) file.
- LEXIS.HLP: installation and use help (in text format). It contains
several help topics which can be read most easily when the
executable file is run.
- LEXIS.DIC: dictionary information (entries, examples, definitions,
extra information, etc.); in text format with some special codes
for colours.
- LEXIS1.DAT to LEXIS9.DAT: additional data files.
LEXIS1.DAT is a simplified version of the main dictionary for didactic
purposes.
LEXIS2.DAT contains an example for an English grammar with exercises.
- LEXIS0.TXT: presentation file with the most essential information
about how the program works. The LEXIS0.TXT file is displayed
when the program starts and cannot be modified.
LEXIS1.TXT to LEXIS9.TXT are the alternative presentation files
for the other data files. They are displayed when a different data
file is selected, and can be modified to suit their contents, which
are also modifiable.
- GNU_GPL.TXT: licence terms under the Free Software Association,
plus instructions on how to use it to distribute free software such as
LEXIS. This file cannot be modified in any way, and must always be
included in any distribution of the LEXIS program.
Additional files for Malted installation:
- LEXISRTS.BAT: start-up batch file that tells the program the path to
the data files and other information (only if the Malted installation
was chosen).
- LEXISRTS.PIF: program information file for start-up under Windows
if the LEXIS program was installed for use within the Malted project.
- LEXIS.GIF: icon for use within the Malted project.
- EJEMPLO.XML: example button for a frame. To use within the Malted
project.
- RTS_INST.BAT: instalation file for use within the MALTED project.
This will not be copied onto the hard disk drive, as it is only
needed once, to install the program.
To uninstall LEXIS, simply delete the whole LEXIS folder. If you are
using Windows, you may also have to locate and delete the direct
access file (lexis.pif). No changes to the Windows folder or
registry are made during installation and use of LEXIS.
