PRESENT SIMPLE of MAIN VERBS — NEGATIVE

To make a negative sentence in the present simple we need a "DO support"
(the auxiliary verb DO), and the word NOT.

As you can see, we use doesn't when the subject is in the 3rd person singular, and we do not add an -s to the main verb. We use don't for all other subjects.

With the verb «have got» we have two options; we can use the "DO support", or use HAVE as an auxiliary verb, and GOT as the main verb:
  • A political map doesn't have any information about mountains.
  • A political map hasn't got any information about mountains.
